Cogeneration for district heating

Cogeneration for district heating

by Alessandro Di Gioia

About Project.

The project deals with the construction and operation of a new 50 MW combined heat and power generation plant, to serve the existing district heating network of a town of some one hundred thousand inhabitants.

Our Approach.

The project envisages the combined use of one gas turbine, a gas engine and a set of heat pumps, that will collect energy from a nearby lake. The plant will be equipped with a hot water tank farm, ensuring the shaving of the peak loads.

This arrangement will enable to maximize the production yield and to cope with the fluctuation of load on seasonal basis.
